Great selections!

That tune from Dave is one of his best. Forgotten all about it until you mentioned it. I hit up Youtube to hear it again.

Default Spotify shuffle

There are about a thousand songs that I have on shuffle and just play continuously.
Then I check out the suggestions on this thread and the other music threads.

I really appreciate that you guys dig past the Gold record hits that have been overplayed. Even those are sometimes worth hearing a few thousand times more but I think you aficionados know what I mean.

Tonight as I was “shuffling” I heard these two back to back and thought of this thread :

Al Stewart - “Year of the Cat”
Todd Rundgren - “Hello it’s Me”

Yes they were hits, but these songs are perfect every note.
I don’t think I really care for any other stuff by either artist. But these songs…Home Runs!

Whaddya think?

Com'n Brian, you don't like "Just One Victory" or "We Gotta Get You a Woman"?

Or check out some off Rundgren's stuff when he was with the group Utopia.

Default Ha

I’m willing to dig deeper for Rundgren.
I’d be surprised if the same artist who crafted “hello it’s me” didn’t have a few others that I would enjoy.

But the song “we gotta get you a woman” sounds like something my junior high school buddies said to my pimply faced self when I tried showing them my 1975 Topps collection.

Now Al Stewart, cmon “Time Passages” ? No thank you.

Well, just check Rundgren out a bit more, you may be surprised. And personally don't know this for certain, but understand on his early solo albums at least, they were true solo albums. Supposedly he produced the albums himself, played all the instruments, and sang every single part. If you listen to many of his songs, you can hear how complex they are. And if he truly did them entirely himself, you can only wonder how many different tracks he must have recorded and put down for some of them.

Let's not confuse Todd Rundgren with Steve Winwood.
