Default Hi Barry!

Hi Barry,
As usual, it's always a pleasure reading your posts and chatting with you.
I was 15 when I met Dennis. I was starting to sell cards to finance my collection at the Grafton, MA Flea Market, and Dennis was "touring New England", buying EVERYTHING! I was always a card guy, but Dennis was way ahead of those days (the early-mid 70's), and he was buying all types of really cool, interesting and simply fantastic memorabilia.
I had a gold pocket watch from 1888 with the Boston players around the dial in absolute gorgeous working order. (It was a gift from Mom & Dad for my Birthday and my perfect SAT scores, lol!) Dennis wanted it, but I wasn't intersted in selling it. Years later, a collector from NJ attending Law School up here and I became friends. I eventually sold it to Steve Mitnick. He was a true collector, and like Dennis, ahead of his time.
Guys like Dennis and Steve would laugh at my T206 obsession trying to get every player with every back.
Man, Barry, those were truly the days! I wasn't even old enough to drive and the minute we'd get to a show, guys would literally line up to sell me stacks of T cards. They were plentiful and they were cheap and I had a blast!

Barry, I really want to thank you for your posts and not just this one. It's always great to read what you and our other hobby icons have to say! Thanks for making my day....AGAIN!
Your Friend,
Bill

Thanks Bill. I do enjoy reminiscing about the old days in the hobby, although I think you may go back even a little further than I do.
