Default early 1900's baseball uniform coat

I just recently purchased this baseball uniform coat...although I have seen pics of ones almost identical to it in vintage pics, I have never seen one in person or for sale....Does anybody have any ideas about market value, rarity and perhaps where any other examples are? Thanks, Mark

Default baseball coat

yeah they were a weird stage in baseball.....if you go onto Yahoo and type in baseball 1900 coat and go into images and scroll down a little you will see a team wearing ones pretty much identical.

Hi-
I am with Brock on this one. I believe it is military. I am always leery of early baseball jackets without a matching picture. Just because another team wore a similar coat does not make all coats like it baseball ones. Is there any back story to the acquisition? I could be way off base and I hope I am. No matter what, it is a really cool coat. Perhaps a larger picture will make the baseball connection clearer.

Oh...I already have provenance and name of person who wore it....where it was from all that....I definitely know without a doubt it is baseball is has a team logo of TS on the pocket etc....I just want to know if there are other examples of jackets like this from baseball out there and what the value is... That is really great that you have the provenance! The closest I could come to finding a team with a similar coat is this postcard from my collection. Unfortunately, it does not match your jacket exactly, nor do I have any idea where my postcard is from. Good luck in your search!

Please also post a larger picture of your jacket as your image is really small. Maybe other members can help match it to a photo in their collection.

Reminds me of the ones of the 1908 St. Louis Browns.
