| Puckett early auto

A friend of mine obtained this Puckett auto early in his rookie year. I was wondering if the team here thinks it would pass a PSA certification... or any thoughts of legitimacy you think?

I'm going to say NO based on the 'K'. It is very rare for someone to completely change from an innie to an outtie. That being said, if anyone has a verified "early rookie year" signature that proves otherwise, I'd be very interested in seeing it. It is rare, but not out of the question. BTW, I don't like the 'irby Puckett' either.

I know that this isn't an answer to what your asking (or maybe it is, tangentally), but it doesn't look like that is a legitimate autograph.

I received autographs in person from Kirby from 1984 to shortly before his death and I am almost positive it is good. It is definately from early in his career - probably from 1984 but I think it's good. He changed his autograph a number of times throughout his career.

The signature is real. My question is why does it matter if PSA will authenticate it ?

I'm not an expert but have seen a lot of Puckett autographs being from MN. At quick glance, it does look like early Puckett autos I have seen. I am a little more familiar with his more recent signature. I wish I had some confirmed mid 80's autos to look at as a reference as well. As another poster mentioned, his auto evolved quite a bit through out the years.

This is good and will pass all day and twice on Sunday. I have had many like this and early signatures like this are always good to pick.
