Brian - I've bought a number of T206's from sellers in the UK but haven't noticed any particular grouping of backs. Off the top of my head I remember buying a couple of Sweet Cap 150 No.649 OP's from the seller rarecigarettecards last year.
In the ACC there is a set of non-sport cards with Sovereign backs that are grouped with the tobacco wars cards in the high T numbers. I have read where some people think these may have been distributed overseas but I haven't been able to confirm this. Here's the back of one.  These cards were produced when the Sovereign brand was owned by the Universal Tobacco Company. ATC bought the rights to the Sovereign brand in August 1904 when the Universal Tobacco Company was broken up and auctioned off by court order. English Sovereigns
I won several of these recent Ebay auctions. The seller indicated to me that he won the lot in an auction, but which auction was not asked or revealed. Do they have tobacco card auctions in England??? I suspect they might.

I won one of the cards and received it today - they definitely are real and not reprints or anything else, although the card I won may have a very slight trim to the bottom border (this was visible in the auction scan, so no surprise to me).

How appropiate for a country with Monarchs
Thanks for the replies so far guys (Ted, Frank, Tim etc.)...it would be interesting to find out if other groups of Sovereigns have originated from England. Tim it is intriquing that another Sovereign issue is considered to have possibly been distributed in the UK.
I didn't check all the lots, so correct me if I am wrong---were all these cards either 350 or 460 series backs? I don't remember seeing any 150 Series. Brian

I looked at a lot of them. Most, if not all, were 460s or 350 Apple Greens.
I still have to confirm delivery of my cards. I'll try to find out where the alleged auction was (UK or US).
