Just got my catalog from them and it came with a bag of popcorn. Free food = great idea. The next auction should put some 1980's gum in it.

			Hey Pete,

Curious, what's the oldest gum you've eaten? I opened a 1987 Topps pack last year for kicks and ate the gum...but the it more or less dissolved -- couldn't really chew it... Have a good one, Steve |

Ate some gum that was a year old, in about '70 or so. Totally brittle.

I have some gum from the late 40's but have not tried it. I did open the pack to look at it though-it was a quite unappealing gray!

I opened a pack of 1977 Topps Mexican football cards. I wasn't going to try the gum. Half was green and half was gray. Didn't Fleer put cookies in their packs at one time because of Topps taking them to court ?

I have a couple boxes of early 90's Topps on my dresser and open packs every now and then. I've tried the gum. It's horrendous.

I found a box of 1956 Elvis Presley trading cards on the shelf of a candy store in Jersey where I grew up, this must have been around 1979 or so. There were 6 packs left and I bought them all for the face value on the pack, 5 cents each. Walking home I opened one and gave it to my friend to eat as a joke - and he popped it in his mouth. He was one of those kids that every neighborhood seems to have who'd eat anything. I just remember a weird foam coming out the corner of his mouth before he threw it up!
