Edwards said it would really hurt if he discovered the card was a fake....was he hurt when dozens of card experts on this board told him it was no good?

apparently not Barry...it took a ridiculously expensive x-ray used to diagnose pathology on humans to convince him!

Makes for quality television though!

Wait so the card they own isn't real?

Love how he brought the big dollar card into the building in a brown paper bag. I guess a briefcase with a lock would be too much to ask for….then again the briefcase is worth more.

John, I also loved the paper bag. I think the question now is how much do you think he got paid to be on the show?

That was interesting, thanks for posting it.
I suppose the card now has value since its been on a tv show and is famous in its own right.

The 'Treasure Detectives' are racist! The card is real.

I'm scanning eBay now for "Once in a lifetime chance to own the famed T206 Wagner featured on hit show Treasure Detectives" with a BIN of $100,000.

Last year in March, i spoke with the guy who authentified this card.
I meet this guy at the Montreal Card show.
I asked a couple question about his authentification.

He said that the card is period correct(1910) with all the test made by these two guy and all her expert...
he dont said the card is a real ' Regular ' Wagner... perhaps a pre-print ..... a test card etc etc etc. So it was a funny conversation with this guy

The more funny thing is :
2 week before the Montreal show i write an E-mail to a guy i know for long time who work now for ACA grading, and i sent to this guy a pic of that Wagner ( ungraded ) and i ask to him for his opinion.
his answer is immediatly : This card is a Fake.
Immediatly after that i send to this same guy the picture of the Wagner graded by the company where this guy work....

His answer was : OK you will speak with the owner of ACA at next MTL show to ask your question.....
LOL

The brown paper bag was to put over his head and to breath into after he received the good news.

It was kind of funny seeing how amazed the guy was when he heard about the thickness of the card.

In the CT scan’s defense these guys are sort of a tumor on the hobby….so in a way good job GE imaging.

Sadly that is most likely true he got paid some cash...these bozos will ride this train as long as they can...

Sadly, I doubt it'll end with this show. They'll somehow come up with claims that the show was rigged, the scan wasn't accurate, the CT scanner wasn't properly configured to scan a flat object, other cards are thinner in the middle, and God only knows.

I bet they'll sue the grading company and/or the scanning center and/or the TV show for damages.

Interesting that it appeared only one of the owners were present for the scan. Perhaps the other one didn't want to face reality or be caught on camera having to admit he's been wrong.
