Doug, that is a very nice "2"! Do you plan on selling off this half of your collection? LMK!

Hopefully I won't have to sell this one anytime soon, but my luck hasn't been the best over the years. This is actually the nicest '52 Topps Mantle that I've owned. It's in slightly better condition than the PSA 4 that I had several years ago so either PSA has started grading more strictly during my time off or the seller just got a tough break on the grade.

I have not seen another PSA 2 that nice before. Maybe it was the centering? Either way, gorgeous, clean card with great color. Would take that one any day.

The only thing I could really see that knocked it down is some light wax on the back. I added a back scan to my original post so you can take a look. It's very light and tough to even notice unless you are looking for it. I had a PSA 5 '52 Topps Mays that had worse wax staining on the back and it wasn't in much better shape than this card.

I'd take that card any day. Congrats on the pickup! My philosophy is to always buy the card, not the holder, and you got a great card.

Thanks, that's always been my philosophy as well. I've always collected low to mid grade cards anyway so the number on the label doesn't really matter too much to me. If I can get a PSA 2 with the eye appeal of a nice PSA 4 without having to pay the PSA 4 price, I'll take those kind of deals all day long.

Default Wow!

How is that a 2? I collect low grade stuff as well. But, man, that is a beauty. I can only hope one day to add such a stellar card to my collection!

Very nice re-entry card Doug. If you have the means, why not come back to the hobby with a bang!
