I was about to add the next unknown to this thread, and realized I had never responded to Mark's request for a larger head shot (sorry!)

So after much delay:

So, the fleshy part of Felsch's earlobe (photo below right) runs much farther up towards the back edge of his ear the does that of the player in Lance's photo (below left), so we can be sure he is not Felsch. Still don't know who he is.

Still no resolution on the "not-Felsch" photo, but ran across another this evening, so moving on. Any ideas on this one? Not nearly as clear, unfortunately. Acme stamping on the back dates to the 1930's fwiw, but the caption is unfortunately missing.

Any ideas on the Red Sox player with the strained expression on his face? (Bonus points and extra kudos if you recognize the Yankee looking away from the camera).

Did you ever figure this one out? I'll guess Shauno Collins.

Still not 100% sure on Glossop. In most of the photos I have, his nose appears a bit more rounded, but there is a LOT of sunlight that looks to be washing out some of the details of the negative, so I wouldn't rule him out. Emil Verban was also suggested, but I think failed the "ear check" due to Verban's earlobes being fully-attached whereas this guy's are at least somewhat detached.

By no means am I an expert on these things though (hence this thread), so feel free to set me straight.

Lance,
Your mystery man does not appear to be either of these players, FWIW.
The search continues....

Thanks Scott. After looking at many many head shots, the closest I've been able to come is Bob Usher, but he doesn't quite look right either. At this point, my brain seems to be telling me every second or third Cub I look at is an obvious match, I think because it is tired and wants me to stop looking at photos

Mark, to answer your question about the first photo, no, I never was able to come up with a positive ID on that one, so back in the "unidentified" pile he went until that "aha" moment finally strikes.

Okay, here's another one of those "why won't they just look at the camera" shots, as if I didn't have enough problems with unidentified photos. I think the guy on the left is Charlie Neal of the 1962-63 Mets, but I'm always open to complete failure/embarrassment on these things. No info on the back that would provide any help with either the date or ID's. Any helpful insight would be appreciated.
