In the late 1970's, I received a response from 1950s player Ted Tappe. He signed his name on a 3x5, and on the bottom of the card wrote "Get yourself a real hobby"

And, in the late 1980's I received a reply from a rookie (who shall remain nameless) who went on to a 15+ year Major League career, who signed the index card and added "Things for righting me"
