Default New pick up.

Very glad to add this piece to my collection. I am a sucker for well loved cards. Would have really enjoyed seeing the look on the SGC grader's face when he received this though.

Great card, Best...I'm sure the grader took one look at that and felt that it was going to be the easiest money he was going to make all year long...no thinking involved in!

Default Another Detroit OJ

Extremely pleased with February thus far, first McGlone, now a nice Pete Conway. This particular pose was only issued in 1888 which makes it pretty tough. Thank you Toby!

You guys are funny. I rarely pick up pre-war cards but thought it was amazing what this card had gone through over the years. Yet, it was clearly cherished by someone, or I don't think it would still be around 100+ years later.

Thanks to the Net54 board member that sold me this. It has got a great home now, and will likely stay in my shoebox for years to come.

That Tolstoi was purchased by me a few years ago (with 2 others) for a few $$. All had the same 'look'. Couldn't stand it - even in my beater set. Upgraded all 3 and gave the Pfeffer to Rob for his Tolstoi project. He had it graded. Glad it has a new home. Don't get too close....

Nice card Joe. I'll be glad when you have all the Detroit cards you need, so these guys will start selling to me.

Joe

Now that's what a 1 is supposed to look like!! Almost seems like there's more disparity in the 1-2 range than there is in 9-10

To add: I wonder if Francis just had a bad day or two in the teens, or if it was a 100+ years of gradual cumulative abuse. Congrats on the pick up though!
