I went to see the Dropkick Murphys last night

I'm glad I can give a laugh to everyone with the list.

I'm originally from Worcester. I've been living next to Boston for about 25 years. I tell my wife that my mail is addressed to occupant not resident. I remember seeing Jay Leno at Sir Morgans Cove in Woosta before anyone even knew who he was. I also remember getting kicked out of Ralphs Chadwick Square Dinner when slam dancing was the rage. I had no clue what it was about. I thought people were trying to start a fight.

Since you are originally from Woosta, I am surprised there was no mention of Spags

. I think the lamps in the guest room STILL have Spags tags on their bottoms.

Sir Morgan's Cove? I saw the Cochroaches there with free tickets from 'AAF. Turned out to be the Stones warming up for the Some Girls tour

Hampton Beach? I remember two seafood joints across the street from each other, Markey's and Brown's. I ate at one all the time because it was a BYOB place. I cannot, for the life of me, remember which it was. Also, I spent many a buzzed night at the Club Casino, seeing some great bands.

Spags has been gone for about 10 years now. The father died and the two daughters took over for a while and then sold it all to Building 19. A good stuff cheap place. It was one step above a flea market. That didn't last long. The buildings are all closed up now and has been for a few years.

The Stones were practicing out at Longview Farm Recording Studios. That is why they picked Sir Morgan's Cove to play at. Later changed its name to Lucky's. Two good shows I saw there were The Fleshtones, also saw them at Ralph's, and Peligro with D.H. Peligro from the Dead Kennedys on bass. I lived in Woosta for 5 years on Common St near the liquor store just up the street from Lake Q. Moved to Virginia from there 8 1/2 years ago.

Also, remember Spags was in Shrewsbury, not Worcester.

Just my opinion, but this is not a derailed thread at all. Sports and music are two of the great unifiers. It does not matter what you like, good music is good music. Gabba Gabba Hey!!!

Yup, Spags was in Shrewsbury. I lived in Marlboro for almost twenty years. My favorite memories of Woosta center around the E M Loews Theater and the Centrum. Here are a few stubs from back when my ties were skinny. (and so was I)
