Some great suggestions and caused me to do some revisions already. But, where is
1. M116 Wagner 2. E95 Plank 3. E90-1 Young 4. E90-3 Evers 5. T206 WAJO 6. CJ Tinker 7. T205 Matty 8. E104 Collins 9. T206 Cobb (Green Background) *Wankaticket's Cobb was inspiring and I need green on my sheet for background to balance out the red. 10. *The e96 Mack is on honorable mention. I had not consider it.

I don't have one but the E90-1 Lajoie is a great looking portrait card. M116 Cobb is a nice portrait.

The E90-2 Wagner has trumped the M116 on my list. That's a nice card my friend. I've had the E107 Plank in my watch list to look at everyday too. Thanks for showing.

Thanks Jim. I have shown it too many times, just like this one Peter just pleaded me to post.....,but I never get tired of looking at beautiful cards. There are certainly some awesome ones in this thread. And I know you have some you never show that would be at the top of this list...

Three of my favorites are from E95. Plank, Cobb, and Bender. Here's my Bender. I'm sure someone could put up a far better E95 Cobb than the one I have.

Terrific example of a great card, Leon. I recall a short while back there was a thread criticizing T205s and specifically (by some members) this card.
It was knocked for being to garish or "busy", and also the fact that Mr. Cobb appeared to be lacking a neck. For me, this all adds to the charm and appeal of the card. Who made the rule that baseball cards had to be anatomically correct? This card has it all -- the color scheme; the gold borders; an artistic, stylized portrait of Cobb wearing his crumpled Tigers cap with white prinstripes resting within a baseball diamond. The crossed bats, mitt, and catcher's mask are framed perfectly below Ty's chin, while the Tigers logo and team name rest above him on the outfield grass. A great piece of art, and a fantastic example of lithography from the early 1900s. |
