As a Niner fan growing up during the '80's and '90's, I thought Summerall and Madden were our local announcers. When the Cowboys took the torch as the dominant team and we started getting the 2nd tier guys, I realized I'd just been very spoiled.
In my opinion Summerall, with his deep voice and dry delivery, is the greatest NFL play by play man ever (Michaels a close 2nd).. and every bit the equal to guys like Keith Jackson on the college side. RIP Pat
