The simple value to a card is what someone will pay for it. What the asking price is, is up to the owner. If you don't like the asking price then move on. If the seller doesn't like the offer then hopefully he moves on. No other rhetoric needs to take place. Simple business.

Why are we dicussing what appears to be another private squabble over price/availability/value of a card?--another vote for "don't care"

Very entertaining. I think the card would sell well at an auction because it presents so well.

I think this is easy...Kevin wanted a general consensus on a card's value, so he set up a poll. By the looks of it, it worked because most of the people voted in a small area of pricing. Of course you will never know what one card is really worth because it's up to the seller and buyer...but I don't think that's the point of this thread, and for some reason people keep eluding to it.

Also, why would Kevin add a "don't care" to the poll...if you're not interested in contributing, then leave the thread. Pretty simple if you ask me. However, I would be careful posting a boched transaction because of what happened in this thread. The last thing you want is bad blood on the board over differing opinions. Probably would have been best just to describe the card and not tell everyone what happened between you and the seller.

Value is one bid higher than the second bidder. This is not a card up for auction. Seller can ask what he wants buyer can pass. Value is not determined by a poll. Especially a poll that says what would you pay. Not a card I personally chase so my buy offer was lower than value, but still more than many others answered.

			I didn't vote because I don't care

but I do think it's a valid discussion. I would prefer personal squabbles not make it to the board but when they are in the middle of card deals they do. It might have been better to just ask , in a poll, what the value of this card is, without all of the other background noise. But I don't see anything out of line with the thread. For the record, I too, price cards that aren't for sale much higher than market value....because I don't really want to sell them. If they are for sale I either price them at market or close to market, or they don't sell. Pretty easy to understand. And lastly, of course great looking cards for the grade sell for more than less great looking cards for the grade.
