Default congrats

David,

That photo went so cheap; almost purchased as a duplicate. It is such an important moment in history. Congrats on that for sure sir. It will go perfectly with your ticket.

Below are a couple shots I added to my early and growing Babe Ruth Collection(both circa 1918). I have recently decided to focus my efforts on Ruth as I simply cannot collect everything.

Thanks for holding back, Ben! I stayed up 'till the auction ended--5:00 A.M.

Nice Ruth shots!

(If you're planning on parting with any of your Gehrigs, please let me know.)

Default Authentic?

Picked this up for around half the original BIN, with money back guaranty. Trying to verify its authenticity. Does anyone have any thoughts? Thanks...Tim

Fabulous pic, even if you paid full BIN price.

Great photo...image does appear to be 1880s, but that style of cabinet wasn't really used at that point...I'm guessing a later print from the original negative...say 1910ish.

Not to be contrarian, but I think the image goes with the mount - just out west somewhere. Check out the catcher's mitt - probably early 1900's.

You're right, I didn't even look at the equipment...three men with gloves that are definitely circa 1900. I guess they didn't get the memo out there in the Hills that the 1880s mustache style was over.

You should have joined us in chat - it was a lot of fun. It was good to 'meet' other forum members in a more spontaneous environment.

Also, we could have argued about the Ruth/Gehrig and Wagner balls
