I think there was an older thread similar to this, I'll see if I can dig it up.

I would say Jimmy Reese or possibly Johnny Pesky...what was Connie Mack's first and last card? Joshua |

He had cards issued right around the end of his managing career, but his first cards are N172s, right? He retired before those were 68 years old.

Not close to the others, but Frank Crosetti had a 1931 Zeenut card, and his last card while he was coaching was a 1968 Bazooka. He did pick up 17 World Series rings in the meantime, however.

I heard one of the Mascots from the Old Judge set grew up to be the George Washington Mascot from the Nationals Presidents Mascot Race. Not sure if that's true, or if they are even in some local team set, but that would be quite a stretch between first and last cards. Also, I believe Jamie Moyer is pictured in the back row of the 1865 Brooklyn Atlantics team card

Next to Moyer, Connie Mack appears in the 1887 Old Judge set and in the 1951 Topps Connie Mack's all-stars in a team photo of the A's. Is he in any earlier or later sets?

Maybe not as much of a gap as others mentioned above, but Honus Wagner came to mind... E107- does he have an earlier card? 1948 Leaf- anything after this? Last edited by MVSNYC; 06-06-2013 at 07:12 AM. |
