So you dislike them in commentary but like them by proxy......
$52.14 shipping for me on about $2500 but there was some oversized items in there so it was about right. Don't forget about the insurance issue. You can typically count on about $1.00per $100 worth of mdse. I'm sure they have an outside insurance rider to cover that but that seems to be what they're charging. About the same you'd pay if you ship via USPS insured and slightly more than UPS or FDX directly. p.s. If I add up all those $3-$5 charges on crap on ebay, I get to WAY more than $52.14 on $2500 worth of goods. Last edited by autograf; 06-07-2013 at 10:17 AM. |

No that's "typically" on the high side, I just shipped out a card yesterday, $8 in insurance for almost $2,000 in declared value.

Well there must be different rates per location. If I ship priority I get up $500 free insurance. After $500, the rates kick in. I just shipped a card yesterday, $5.95 for priority shipping, $8 for insurance for a total of $13.95 on a card with a declared value of $1995. |

I tried to call them to find out about the shipping charge, and their phone number on their website and on their invoice is disconnected. Does anyone have a good phone number for Mile High?

$26.81 on $1,700. If $8 is fair for insurance, that leaves $18 for Fed Ex.

Their website indicated that they have stopped using UPS and do Fed Ex only

But a lot of people use USPS for comparisons anyway, I do. There might be a little profit in auction house shipping but I truly don't think it is generally a lot, after they pay all of the expenses associated. And if something looks out of line I usually call and get it worked out. I have won hundreds, if not thousands, of items from auction houses and can't recall not getting full resolution if there was an issue. Obviously I have read about some poor issues on the board but they are the exception, in my mind.
