Chris, thank you for the quotes. One more thing to note: Since the Lipset auction there was a Cobb tobacco tin discovered which still had an intact tax stamp. The stamp was dated 1912.
So if the Cobb/Cobb backs were indeed distributed in the tins, this would place them in 1912, too late to be included in the T206 set. Not like it really matters much, though. However we catagorize the card, it is still one of the most valuable in the hobby.
