Not sure if he is a member over here or not, but there is a site dedicated to the 1989 Bill Ripken Fleer card. The site owner has worked pretty hard to educate others about these cards. Worth a look for those of you interested in the card.

This card has a dimple over the bat knob from the Black Box being removed and the gloss from being reglossed has a different texture over the same area. As far as the Bill Ripken website I email with Jon the guy who runs it on a semi regular basis and emailed with him several times about this card.

1989 Fleer Rypken
Given all the creative fakes of this card, not just the white out versions, they are almost a collectible of a sort in and of themselves
