Al - were the 55 & 56's the modern players and the '48's the old timers? I really like the ones with the turn of the century through 1920ish players.

Yes, the 55s and 56s were current players and the 48s were oldsters...Ruth, Gehrig, Cobb, Tinkers, Evers, Chance, ect.
It was the same way in 1951--The Topps Current All Stars were current guys and the Topps Connie Mack All Stars were past players |
