Sept pick-ups
Dan - cool oddball "rookies"...I love the not-so-common rookie / almost-rookie cards of players!

For my fellow error & variations collectors, I present my new Ryan 'missing the dot in the 'i' of his signature' pickup. Tough card to find.
ryan.jpg Edited to add: Man, it's crazy how bad a card looks when it's blown up in a hi-res scan! In my hand, the corners look fine, but the scan makes it look all round cornery. Yowza!

Just a few notable cards I picked up out of this collection today. Got a couple more Mantle cards to add to my hoard of course. I am excited to finally have a Joe Morgan rookie

Joe Morgan was my 2nd favorite player after Lou Brock. In the 70's the Cardinals weren't much good, so Cincy kind of became a team to follow a bit and Morgan was always my favorite player on the Big Red Machine. I've been tempted over the years to put together a Morgan collection, much like my Brock collection.
We shall see, maybe someday, he certainly has plenty of cards to collect. |

Similar to Brock, his trade from Houston to Cincinnati in 1971 is viewed as one of the worst, if not the worst, in Astro's history
