Just messin' with you DanP, yours would grade higher than mine anyways!

I have never seen another strip card version of this Simmons:

Only specimen of this Adam Hats Gomez I've ever seen:

There were probably a few of these printed, but this is the only one I've ever seen in decades of chasing this set, a prizewinning card from the 1968 Atlantic Oil contest set:

I've seen others from the issue but not this one:

Not exactly a card but a neat item of my favorite player as a kid:

Coney Island Arcade Lou Gehrig:

And just because my collection is...eclectic, I have to throw this in:

1930 Chocolatin Mercedes Papke and Lewis. A very rare issue from Uruguay:

This thread should be called "debunking supposed one of a kind HOF'ers!"

I can't believe any T206(besides maybe a signed one or a print freak) is a 1/1?!

You can make any card a 1 of 1 by writing on it -- or, better yet, having your wife write on it.

Sign your name on the front (or back) of a 1986 Topps Don Mattingly and -- voila! -- assuming you don't do it again, it's unique. Like Ryan said, not sure that was the original intent of the thread.

Not a pre-war, but... You mean like this beauty? A true 1 of 1.

Ryan,

Your Juan Marichal is awesome. Do you know what year or what set it is from?

Paul

It looks like Marichal played in the Dominican for that team (Leones del Escogito) from 1957-1964. All Dominican "Album cards" are just estimates when it comes to dating them. That said, I think that Ryan's card is simply bad-ass too!!!

Seems strange to call an 1886 issue Deacon White's rookie year since he began his major league career in 1871, but card sets wouldn't surface until the end of his career. The presented portrait of Deacon was unknown until 2009 when a near complete collection of Tomlinson cabinets surfaced. Several action poses (batting or pitching) are known for each player on the 1886 team but portraits are often unknown or unique.

Rhett, nice cards. No worries, now I can sell it. I was only keeping it because there was no record of any others on PSA or SGC.

Ken, WOW... nice stuff!

Great cards everyone! I love seeing unique cards and memorabilia.

Amazing postcards!

Question about 1911 Chicago American Giants PC: Is Rube Foster standing with arms crossed third from left and is Pete Hill crouching at the left end of the middle row?

I think (and hope!) these WaJo and Sam Rice strip cards with these advertising backs are the only ones known to exist - please ignore the Reuther/Fleer card:

A couple of T214s that I believe (and hope!) are the only ones known to exist:

I believe that all of the very few Leader Theatre cards (both types) that are known to exist are 1 of 1s - thanks again to Dan M. for this card, which is the "Holy Grail" of my Sam Rice collection:
