Here are my favorites. These are all from the collection of John Laity, who got these signed on New York subway platforms between 1933 and 1935. Cards from Mr. Laity's collection are easily identifiable because of the red line he drew as a way of telling the player where to sign. He also trimmed off the "Big League Chewing Gum" banner on the cards that featured those. I have a signed copy of every HOF rookie card from 1934 on, six signed T206 HOF cards, and 44 different signed 1933 Goudey HOFers, but the cards from Mr. Laity's collection are by far my favorites.

Great Yankees autographs Matt & Jason some even look familiar (Matt... This is a TEASER and I hate to do it but on the subject of the 1918 Yankees , Which WAS one heck of a team ....on my next e-mail update which just HAPPENS to be ready to be e-mailed tomorrow ..And is called 'MEET THE YANKEES" I'll be offering for sale a fully executed 1918 New York Yankees contract for a player from that team signed by the player (to be named later..) Ban Johnson & Jacob Ruppert . To the best of my knowledge this is the ONLY autograph of this player in existence. Who is it ???? Sign up to receive my e-mail update and find out !!

Must be Bob Shawkey Did Eddie Plank ever sign with the Yankees after he was traded from the Browns for Urban Shocker and Nick Cullop??

. . . but the photo is of former Phillies, Tigers, and Yankee "Happy" Joe Finneran.
And his signature on the Players Contract is outstanding.

Those are great, but I would bet that the red line was drawn after the card was signed, not before.

If you look closely at the scans, you'll see that the signatures go over the red lines.
