BW, here is a link to VCP, just use the player search. I don't think you have to have a subscription to use this service.

VCP is not a good way to go if you are looking for all cards for a given player. For example, Elmer Singleton has 12 cards that I know of - VCP lists only 4 of them. Beckett's Alphabetical Checklist lists 11 of the 12, missing only the 1974 unauthorized collectors issue (Broder Popcorn Cards).
You might want to read this thread: http://www.net54baseball.com/showthread.php?t=166503 In this thread I mentioned a nice database available in csv, ms access, and SAS formats (I had no takers). I now carry this database with me (in SQLITE format) on my phone and tablet so I always have it with me. Once in awhile that comes in handy. This database is not perfect either - it showed all 12 cards for Elmer Singleton but had his name as Elmer, Elmore, Bert, and Smokey so you have to know your players. It does seem to be pretty comprehensive. |

Agree that Beckett's Alphabetical Checklist is excellent resource.

SportsCardForum.com also has an inventory/catalog feature similar to Beckett's that is pretty close to being as comprehensive. In some cases it lists a lot more of the oddballs and minor league stuff that Beckett doesn't cover, and also covers more of the sets SCD cataloged that Beckett missed.
