From REA to Ebay in less than 12 hours

There's a part of selling where you always need to regularly bring in fresh, new inventory. When I've done this in the past, I've always found that my old, stale stuff often gets another look from potential buyers.

Hello everyone. I thought I would explain myself a little here as many of you are good friends and know me well and would wonder why I am doing this.

Not really concerned with flipping as most of my oddball stuff is priced high as you can see.

I buy alot of stuff for myself as I did the recent REA lots. So I stick them in my ebay store which costs me nothing and if someone wants them more than I do then so be it.

My ultimate goal is to get most of my collection up in my store eventually.

Of course I haven't even got my show stock half up yet so I may die first of old age.

Any way, my ebay store is basically a place to showcase some of my neat stuff which I have done with some of my rare T206s that I really do not want to part with.

Remember, I didn't want to part with the Aplpha's but they are gone.

You're just an ole fuddy duddy....we know you. I too have listed stuff for sale with high prices because I didn't want to sell. Two years ago at the National I did it with one full case. One guy argued with me for at least 30 minutes about trading for a card I had 10k on. I told him cash only and I was firm on it. He never understood even AFTER I told him I didn't really want to sell. He kept on saying, "but you have a price on it" and I kept on saying, "because everyone keeps asking but I don't want to sell".......He couldn't grasp the concept.

Exactly Leon! and if anyone wants to hit the BIN please feel free as I will have the items in hand quicker than you can imagine! I pride myself on fast shipping!

We all handle this hobby differently. I don't know what portion of Dan's collection is represented on ebay, but I used to put almost all of mine up for sale. I figured everything has a price if someone wants to try to pry it out of my hands, but in the meantime I can enjoy it.

I kind of like Dan's business model.

this seems to be happening more and more on EBAY...its becoming a place to showcase items, with no intention of selling them (thus very high prices)

I have thought that this is what many people use ebay for, but your are the first to admit it...

it has nothing to do with you, but I get frustrated weaving through all the overpriced BIN from people who only want to show them off..

ebay should make a new area that allows people to do this, like Zillow has "make me an offer I cant refuse"...that way it doesn't get into the same spot of things that actually are trying to be sold and clutter them up...

Oh I can completely sympathize with this statement. I have worked my way around this issue as a buyer by "blocking" certain sellers from my global searches.

There is a place on the advanced search when you are setting up a global search say like "T206", where you can list certain sellers to block.

There are a few sellers that list mainly mainstream pre-war cards and are very high in my opinion and the same stuff keeps popping up so I have these blocked on my searches.

To avoid my items you would just need to block darby-s as a seller.
