In the original box, only one known to exist in the box.
That's a beauty, Ben. Scott, I bowed out on the 1907 Detroit photo as well, it is gorgeous!! Last edited by gnaz01; 11-09-2013 at 11:36 AM. |

Scott, great photo. Reminds me of the California Milk Producers commercial on TV, "Happy Cows come from California". Happy baseball players too! Great bib front jerseys. Ben the Cobb photo is awesome

Phil, that's a H-U-G-E piece. I throw a bid in each time it comes up, but I never come close. Great pick-up.
It's a tradition now for Ben to unknowingly knock me into second on a big piece. Cobb slid right out of my grasp. I feel like I got kicked in the bag.

SORRY LATE ADDITION - I READ, OR RATHER I MIS-READ YOUR ORIGINAL POST. I AT FIRST THOUGHT YOU WROTE THE ONLY ONE, BUT NOW SEE "ONLY ONE WITH IT'S BOX", WHICH OBVIOUSLY IS KEY....GREAT PICKUP!!! DON'T LET YOUR KIDS PLAY WITH IT. Last edited by Shoeless Moe; 11-09-2013 at 10:43 AM. |

I won the the one on ebay. I was waiting to get to post it as a pick up, but, as you noted, it doesn't have the box. I'm very happy with the one I got, at least until a better condition example comes along that is reasonably priced. Greg, Yours looks like it's in spectacular condition. Congrats. Please post a picture of the front of the box once you get it. Best, Mark

I am OK with paying what I did, as it is from Mark Cooper's collection and you really rarely see these come up for sale. I will be glad to post the box lid Mark when I receive it. Congrats on yours, too. For that price, I would have paid that for 1/2 the game ![]() Greg |

Ben,
It was a 1926 hunting photo of Cobb and his bird dog. The photo had sentimental value to the buyer as he hunted with Cobb during his childhood. I hated to let it go but it obviously it is where it belongs. He sent me a note with the payment which was very cool and signed in that familiar green ink. He recently published a book titled Heart of a Tiger which is about growing up with Cobb. I haven't read it yet but plan on doing so in the near future. |

I won the Watermans album with the Bobby Jones autograph for a good price, otherwise I got shot down.
Scott, I owned that cabinet once upon a time, I think around 2007 and sold it to a board member. Ben, that is the nastiest base I have ever seen that Cobb is sliding into. Rhys
