Default 2013 and 2014 goals

I feel like I am back at work measuring performance. So here goes

2013

1. Complete the 1935 Goudey set- one to go, Ruth
2. Ten SGC 80 or higher added- yep, exceeded that.
3. Get the monster over 300 - yes. See my sig lne
4. T206 Elberfeld graded- learned to spell, settled for a nice raw example
5. Add two HOFers - not chasing the big 2, need Matty white cap; success
6. Avoid another set - yeah, right, big time loser on this. Started e91c, r312, Clemente set, 1933 Goudey.

2014

1. As for goals next year, nope. You can't fire me, I quit.
2. As a friend quoted a story to me one day, " you have raised my salary down for the last time, **** me, I quit".
3. Build a few rods, buy and sell a few cards.
4. Bosses, soccer players, and hockey players like goals, but goalies are my new friends. Screw goals!
5. Decide, or not, to chase after Demmit and O'hara, St. louis.....
6. Honor my friends and family, enjoy my acquaintances, laugh a little, eat less and fish more.
7. Spend another year in the company of those fine individuals on Net54

Peace

Keith

Technically I made headway on the Hindus, but not by much. Same goes for the T207s. I decided halfway through the year to focus more on selling off much of my collection in order to help pay for a new home. I'm finding it's a lot easier to buy than to sell. Making some headway, but still have a ton of material to go through. Getting tired of printing shipping labels...

Goals for 2014?
Sell off rest of T206 commons, game used balls, modern cards (except my Bryce Harper master set that's in progress), and a few other things here and there.

2013:
1. continue improving my t206 set - check
2. finish 33 goudey - check (close enough)
3. better define my pre-war type-collection goal - I think it defined itself for me. I reached 85-90 different relatively easily then it slowed way down. I'm at 97 now and wouldn't mind reaching 100.
4. add a couple of cards to my t207 subset - got to within 1 - it's a multi-hundred dollar card that I may never decide to go for, not that I've had many opportunities this year (maybe twice?)

2014:
1. Continue to develop and maintain a relaxed pace on all my collecting projects.
2. 50's, 60's, 70's topps/bowman hofer run - acquire all the "easy" ones.
3. Dabble with my t206 set - less than 10 left on my list to upgrade, pick up a few more less common backs to sprinkle into the mix.
4. Reach 100 different pre-war types.
5. add to my e-card, t210, and t212 subsets

Happy Holidays everyone!

I completely missed the 2013 goal thread, but my reply then would have been essentially the same as this year's - cross off at least one card from my 14-player Old Judge "A" want list and one from my 10-player Old Judge "B" want list. More than that would be a windfall. Thankfully, I exceeded expectations by one card in 2013.

I only collect autographs, here is mine.

Get up to the mid 90's Perez Steele HOF set (at 78 now).
Start the Perez Steele Celebration set and hope to have all but the Campanella & Conlan.
Work on the Perez Steele Great Moments and have at least half of them (only have 1 now).
Have over 3000 different hockey players autograph (just over 2100 now).
Have over 2000 different baseball players autograph (just over 1100 now).
Have over 1000 different football players autograph (just over 300 now).
Start working on a basketball autograph collection, only have a few but most are HOF players.
Add at least another 100 more Montreal Expos autographs on something where they are pictured in the uniform (have around half of all the players now).
Continue to work on getting all the 80's O-Pee-Chee hockey sets autographed with the goal of having at least 50% of them all done.

Now do I think that there is a chance I'll get this done? May not get to the total number of different autos for each sport but it's something to shoot for.

Similar to Kevin, I would be happy to accomplish the following:

1) Locate and acquire one 1888 Detroit N172 that I still need
2) Locate and acquire one 1889 Detroit N172 that I still need
3) Locate and acquire one N173 Detroit that I still need
4) Locate and acquire a Detroit Wolverine scorecard from a year I still need

It would be a pretty good year if I managed to accomplish 3 of 4, but I like stretch goals and will try for a grand slam (drive all four home).

2013 was a great year but I'll wait until we start the traditional annual year-in-review thread mid-December.
