1910 Old Mill Advertising Piece?

I don't think it is an Old Mill piece at all. Pictorial News Co. made current events posters that are relatively easy to find. Lots of baseball and other sports. It looks like a poster of theirs with an Old Mill contest advertisement on it.

btw, 100 million people on ebay and the one item I win gets posted on the board. What are the chances?

Leon - There was no need to out yourself since the bidding id's were private! I had a bid on it and was going to circle the wagons to put a final bid in on it, but got interested in Bob Costas' Russian Pink Eyes and the Luge drama, so I forgot. (I was kicking myself a little) For the record, I was going to put a quick final bid in of $125.

I watched all week and then forgot all about leaving my snipe. Which was going to be for $126.

Nah. $88 was going to be my bid.

I was watching it too but I couldn't tell if it was some type of magazine page that was torn out of something or an independent advertising piece.

Good stuff, Peter - I have never used a snipe service, so probably should look into it, but I sort of enjoy the manual snipe... more organic approach if you will. There is a certain rush, knowing I can pop a number in there and snipe it all on my own. The truth was I was considering $200, but then got cold feet thinking it was a Pictorial News piece, but of course confusion sets in with the OM quote on the front, so $127 would have been my real bid.

Seriously... I thought this piece may go for several hundred considering Joe and Ty were on there with the Old Mill Cig advertising, but I just am not sure that this was 1910 ad piece. Possibly much later?? The cool part is being able to send off for a group picture. The question is what group picture? (Perhaps the same one that is being showed in the ad piece?

It was done by Pictorial New Service of NY. It came in today and is 12 x 18 and blank backed. The paper is a heavy clay coated type. I would call it an ad poster. I valued it more than others did....It will be fun to research too. My guess is it is circa 1915....could be a few years earlier but it's not a given. It is definitely a real and authentic piece. My high snipe is in red and I think it's that kind of value....but maybe not?
