Okay, okay. I screwed up! Yeeesh!

I did find the image of the kid Brooks photo that was originally posted online though. I'll update it with a proper scan if/when I locate the hard copy. As usual, my memory is horrible and he's holding a ball, not a bat:

There's also this team photo, which I think was referred to earlier. Brooks is the inset at the upper left:

Lance... no problem; you're not alone "everyone" messes up now and then.

Am I correct that this kid image was a wire photo used for around his retirement and/or HOF induction?

Mark,

Have you seen the 1955 York White Roses photo?

Yes, and a lousy image at that. I got a PM question about the Larussa photo, and in rooting around trying to find it, uncovered the Brooks childhood photo, so I went ahead and updated it above. It was indeed issued in 1983 to coincide with his induction into the HOF (may have been used again later when he retired, but I don't know). The image is from a family photo taken in 1938 when Brooks was 17 months old.

Default Brooks - White Roses

James,

I have seen the picture I believe you are referring, but never a hard copy. Was hoping with all the minor league teams and games there would be more photos of Brooksie, or at least team photos, out there. I'm sure there are somewhere.

Regards,

Mark

Lance... Thanks for searching and posting the update on the child photo. Yeah, not a very good one, but at least he's holding a ball. If you ever want to move it please keep me in mind.

I do know that a 1956 San Antonio Missions team photo does exist.
