I have played baseball and softball for 46 yrs running. I throw and bat left handed. I write right handed. It's not that uncommon. Nice photo btw....

Especially for back when Ruth lived. As writing left-handed was considered wrong. Mainly because the ink would smear by left-handed writers.

It's the other way for me. I'm left-handed, but I play baseball righty (at the plate and in the field) because I learned how to play by copying my dad.

I am a natural lefty but learned to do everything right handed growing up. My parents told me that I was using the wrong hand.

Also, I picked this card up for the second time in the Sterling auction last night. I love the look and am glad to have it back. I had won it in last September's B&L auction and wound up trading it for four T206's. Sorry for the small scan!

This agglomeration of players from various minor league teams wore Spalding jerseys, but they were known as the McCormicks after their manager, Jim McCormick. They played in the 1912 California Winter League. Shown are:
Top row: Bill Goodman, Chet Chadbourne, Bert Whaling, Charlie Chech, Bill Tozer Middle row: Dr. Finley (trainer), Roy Castleton, Carl Lewis, McCormick (Mgr.), Kelly, Thomas Bottom row: Elmer Rieger, Red Killefer, Billy Page For more, visit http://www.sportingoregon.com/ |

Wow - three GREAT postcards in a row!!
Love the early Ruth and Wagner! Super great registration on both, and far nicer than their technical grades!!

Someone just handed me these beauties in a parking lot in NJ. Perfect for the Pittsburgh Pirates collector in my house!

Nice pick up on that one. Had I not had one it would have gone for quite a bit more
. These are super rare cards. I think I have seen a total of 3-4 in my 17 yrs in the hobby.Edited to add, your E100 doesn't look trimmed to me, from the scan. (of course the Gilmartin is and was advertised as such)
