Default 1953 Topps Gum

Early Spring of 1953 when the 1st series of 1953 Topps cards were available....to a limited degree in certain areas of the country....
1952 Topps Hi # cards were also found in 1953 Topps wax packs.

.

If you opened up 1953 Topps wax packs that contained 1952 Topps Hi #'s....please chime in here and tell us about them.

Thanks,

T-Rex TED

Default 1952 Berk-Ross BB cards

This 72-card set is sort of unique in that its roster of HOFers includes Joe DiMaggio, Ted Williams, Stan Musial, Jackie Robinson,
Bob Feller, Yogi Berra, Roy Campanella, Mickey Mantle, Willie Mays, and Duke Snider.

Default 1952 Bowman Gum FB cards......

Fall of 1952, BOWMAN issued a very artistic 144-card FB set. In order to compete with the very popular larger size 1952 Topps BB cards, Bowman re-sized
their regular set of FB cards. Then re-issued these larger size cards circa....Fall/Winter of '52.

Shown here is a very rare 32-card uncut sheet of the (1st series) Bowman "GIANT SIZE" cards. Major stars on this sheet are Sammy Baugh, Otto Graham,
Y. A. Tittle, Charlie Justice, Charley Trippi, Hugh McElhenny, and Frank Gifford (rookie card).

This sheet is quite unique. Veteran FB card collectors cannot recall having seen a Bowman FB (large cards version) sheet such as this one in the past 34 years.
I acquired this sheet in 1982 at a Hobby shop in Media, Pennsylvania.

Agree, not sure if we knew where the Fan for Fan's came from before seeing that ad? That is awesome.

From an obscure small pamphlet/magazine from 1922, the "LITTLE DELINEATOR", is an advertisement for Babe Ruth. On page 5 is a chance to win an autographed bat and ball by Babe Ruth. All you had to do was send in correct answers and "most interesting short letter on Baseball".
