Any ideas on this ball and signature

He never seemed to forget that there is a 'c' after the 'S' before.....

Nor can I find any example of that R or S.

He also was out of the game in 1991, (AAA) except for 1 game in 1996. So this would have been a post-career or minor league signing. I mean, WHO would do that to a perfectly good ball??

(My first guess was Schu also.)

That is former Ranger Rusty Greer. I'm 100 percent certain of that.

I agree with Jax, it's Rusty Greer.

With Rick Schu you usually got a distinctive R..K but the last part is very similar. Greer is pretty consistent with the R_ for first name.

It's probably because he didn't 'roid up like the rest of the stars in that era (or did he??). Greer is definitely an overlooked star for that period, but most likely because he only had about 6 solid years. I always thought Michael Young was also never given his proper due (same franchise).

BTW, I'm sure the owner of the ball is relieved to know that it's Greer and not Schu.
