I probably overpaid a bit for this but this variation is insanely rare and was one of my white whales (been looking for 2-3 years now):

Thanks Bill and Matt! Nice cards everyone. I love the Bazookas and really cool Who Am I.
Below are my latest acquisitions. I am attaching a photo of the collection and then some pictures of the stars. The Mantle is the only one that really fits into my collection, so I'll be piecing the others out in the near future. Still trying to decide whether to get them graded (some have pin holes), leave them as is, try to get them in an auction, consign them or sell them on eBay/Net54 (I don't want to hijack the thread but any thoughts would be appreciated via PM). ![]() ![]() ![]()

Bunch of awesome stuff this month.
That show grouping of raw has some of my favorite looking cards-- namely 73 Aaron and Clemente. Great action shots. The 52 Mays is insane. Then the Bazooka Mick and that rare variation for Chris?! June is strong! |

Getting a 1964 Topps set started this month. This is my first raw card addition. What grade would you give this card ? Looks like a solid 7 / NMT to me.
Found the writing on the back of the card to be very interesting. Niekro was being groomed as relief pitcher in 1963-64. There were not too many of them around in the early 60's. Little did they know he would go on to win 300 + games despite very little run support on some poor Braves teams. It says he worked for Uncle Sam in 1963. Any one know what he did ? This card is not valuable but I love it ! Strikeout Leaders Card of Nolan Ryan and Phil Niekro. Talk about opposite tactics in accumulating strikeouts. Arguably the greatest knuckle baller of all time and arguably the greatest fast baller of all time on the same card, leading the NL and AL in SO in the same season.
