Underbidder looks legit to me, not a shill. Plenty of guys do that one bid at a time thing.

I'm with you, think price seems high... And bid history doesn't seem to reveal any smoking gun foul play. I do that one bid at a time thing a lot just cuz it's so easy now... But this does not explan why he'd go so high?!? Could've gotten a nice clean 3 for that

It's obviously downgraded because of the back only -- front looks much much better than a 1. That in all likelihood explains it.

I think the reason for the high price is because of the SC factory 25 back.

Yeah, some people assign a high value to cards with an extremely nice front. I've been blown out of the water a few times bidding on such cards when I've tried to pay "POOR" prices.

Nice looking card and the toughest Matty T206. Two people wanted it, thus a high price. It happens all the time. A good seller to boot. It looks like the winner
actually pays the highest prices. |

Still seems very high to me.. I get the nice front, bad back sentiment, but would expect the MattyWhiteCap equivalent quality of the MattyC SGC"1" Ruth rookie to justify the price. Lots of nice ones, with backs, go for less and it wasn't one of those freak instances when two simultaneous snipes drive the price... The buyer walked it up very methodically.
That said, if he's happy with it, I'm happy with it, and more power to him Last edited by itjclarke; 06-25-2014 at 11:06 PM. |
