Whoa! Maybe we don't see something in the scans that the grader did, but that is worthy of liberating and resubmitting, and if it comes back as a 1 again, I would crack it out again and submit to SGC. I no longer own this card (auctioned it off last summer), but I must have caught the grader on a real good day. It appears to have the same registration issues as your card does. Note the shift of the grass to the right.

Hey Ted, any 1914 Pratt is a beautiful card, although I guess I am a bit irked that these are the only two PSA 1 1914 Cracker Jack Pratts…..

I have found PSA really deducts for the surface "wrinkles" on 14CJs (like your Pratt). I have a couple that present like 3s or better but are PSA 1s or 1.5s

I'd be irked too Barry. I was actually pretty excited when mine came back as a 1.5. I would try to resubmit. Even with the wrinkles, I can see them in the scan, I think you got hosed.

I have thought about regrading it, but I am very skittish about parting with it (even temporarily). I was considering bringing it to the National and discussing the card with PSA, but in the past (from what others have told me), PSA has not been apt to admit that they may have under graded a card. At the end of the day, I feel pretty lucky to own a Pratt and, regardless of the numerical grade, I am pretty happy with it. Plus, I bought it raw about 6-7 years ago for $500. The best $500 I ever spent in the hobby (the $135 on the Cady that is the topic of this thread is a close second).

In person the card actually looks much nicer than the scan would suggest.
