Beautiful Crawford - do you know who started signing in green first, Cobb or Crawford? I know Crawford didn't think highly of Cobb as a human being, so I wouldn't think he would be emulating him.
Never thought about it before.

I don't think either was emulating the other when it comes to signing in green. Wasn't green a common ink color in the '40s and '50s? I have some vintage Hollywood signatures (namely Ginger Rogers, Betty Grable) and many of their signatures are in green ink.
