There was an amazing M116 selection on Memory Lane last weekend which provided a good test on whether they will ever gain. The HOFers did well but the commons died--and most of them were PSA 8s and most with "none higher." As usual with M116s, half were gorgeous color and half were ugly. But you could get an 8 with low pop and none higher for about 250--and they sold for at least 50 more recently. So if anything, going down...

I'm hoping no E90-1 or E92 surges until I can complete my sets. My attempt at CJs went to pot when the prices soared so I would like some collecting good fortune for a change

The gold border artist(s) definitely spent more time on Ty Cobb and Walter Johnson than the other subjects.

Johnson, Young and Matty look fine. Cobb looks like his cheeks and chin are swollen and his eyes are too close together ...also his ears stick out.

I know a lot of folks seem to like the T205 Cobb, but it's not a very attractive image of the man's face. So many better choices out there.

If only his T205 captured even an ounce of the personality in this photo.

So true! When the CJ's surged I wondered if it wasn't just several people going after the set at the same time. That happened to a buddy of mine when he was putting together the 33 Goudey's. He ended up selling his set later in one of the big auction catalogs and lost around $30K.
