I didn't have that poster growing up, just the classic Farrah Fawcett one. I guess that could explain a lot .....

Prewar cards were something I only saw in the Sport Americana guides until my dad gave me three N172 Old Judge cards he found in a scrapbook.

Default poster

great poster---wish I'd had it as a kid.
instead, I had one of those black light posters with a peace sign and dove.
I'm glad I had the latter,too.

Paul, I agree with you on the slocum tome.
I've had a couple of them for years and keep them in separate ends of the house for easy reading. They're heavy as lead.

all the best,
barry

That's a cool poster, Louie. Some sweet cards on there!

The color insert pages from the Sport Americana price guides from the early 80s always grabbed my attention. Several of the cards became ingrained into my memory, specifically the '41 PB DiMaggio, the '53 Mays, the '54 Bowman Williams, and the iconic '52 Topps Mantle...

+1...these pages got me into type collecting.

As a kid I had the sport americana t206 posters on my wall as well as a poster featuring all of the world series programs since 1903.

Nice posters Pete! I feel if I grew up with those on my wall it would have been just as effective as the Burdick collection I had...really cool stuff!
