Mine is a childhood nickname based on my last name. Hardly anybody other than my parents, my wife, and a couple co-workers calls me by real name. To everybody else, it's "Tabe".
As for the avatar, well, a few years back there was a web site where you could submit a photo and it would create a "Simpsons" character of you based on your photo. A co-worker friend of mine did that for our entire group, with hilarious results. Mine actually is a fairly good representation of what I actually look like and so I've adopted it as an avatar. Mine comes from a contest I won with Topps. I got a card in the 2013 Gypsy Queen set where the title of the card was Gypsy King. My sports number in high school was 13.

My username and avatar come from my first passion, birds. The 42 is because it's the answer to everything, so it should be a part of everything.
The pic is of an osprey diving for dinner. Spent last weekend working with the Cape May Raptor Banding Project; more ospreys, hawks, falcons and eagles than you could count. Bill |

I've found that the older I get, the less I remember so have made my name my user id for pretty much every account that I can. I figure it's the last thing I'll remember before they cart me away
