Its an 1888 N43 Allen & Ginter. The player poses are the same as in the N29 set, with the obvious addition of a larger, more ornate background.

Very nice pick-ups, Mark. Still plugging away at the HOF portraits set, huh?

Got these two cards in the mail today. I hate getting doubles, but these are two different variations, so I said ahh what the heck.

Another with 13 players who were with the Pittsburgh Pirates during the regular season, but never played a game. There's also one about 27 baseball families, as well as a day-by-day look at the worst team in Pittsburgh Pirates history. Not exactly new in November to me, but new to getting graded, via SGC onsite at the Shriner's show in Boston...

The one I came by is trimmed more than usual, with DAN MURPHY CATCHER PHIL AL taped on its own tab to the bottom: https://www.dropbox.com/s/biikdeeyiz...45.30.jpg?dl=0 I assume grading companies will reject the card if I leave that tab taped on, so would submitting it mean removing (carefully) all possible tape and residue? Anything else to keep in mind when doing so? |

BINed this one off of eBay.
Liked the colors on the front and the stamp on the back. Patrick |
