Since the Pirates are hot in the 'pick up' thread, here's my newest related item:

Jon and Scott I am obviously biased but I think those are great pick-ups
Jon, do you have the black version of that pennant? I seem to recall that the white one can be had with either Virdon or Murtaugh listed as manager. Scott, I'm looking forward to seeing that book in person. However, I wish you would limit yourself to collecting Astros memorabilia. In sticking with the Pirate theme. I picked up my 14th 1971 Bucs stub today. On this date 14,845 witnessed Luke Walker out duel Bob Gibson as the Pirates clinched the 1971 NL East title.

It's tough being a fan of a non-vintage team - I have to invade other people's territory sometimes.

Thanks Mike. I do not have the black version of the pennant. I would like one at some point. I believe the one I have was purchased at the same time as the program was during the series since I purchased them together from the same guy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Three different Cleveland Indians season passes, including World Championship season of 1920, issued to Mrs Guy Morton. Guy Morton pitched for the Indians from 1914 - 1924.
Assuming that the pass was also valid for the World Series, and that as the wife of one of the players, she would have attended, the 1920 pass was likely used to witness Bill Wambsgnass' unassisted triple play in Game 5. Interesting personal notations on the back of the 1924 pass show some income and expenses, such as 75 for Rent and 20 for Car.

Picked up this vintage 7 x 9 image of Mickey Mantle and Hank Aaron at Yankee Stadium during the 1957 World Series.
This image was used for the 1958 Topps card number 418 - "World Series Batting Foes" Although I am a Yankees fan, Hank Aaron was my favorite player as a teenager in the late 1960's - early 1970's as I rooted for him to become the all-time Home Run King. The International News Photos stamp on the back didn't come out well in the scan, but it is the one used from 1949 - 1957, according to "A Portrait of Baseball Photography" ![]()

Not the best pic as it was taken with my phone. Uniform was originally listed as a "road uniform". The style and pinstripes clearly made it a home version and I knew that when I bought it. The garment was fairly evenly toned and soiled. This pic is post conservation cleaning.
