Very nice Mayo!
I picked this up at the National in a trade. Only the 2nd one I'd ever seen. ![]() There is no governmental entity called the "Betting Commissioners of New York"; it was really an illegal policy game based on the fight that happened to use this slip as the ticket. Ironically, there was one in the recent Heritage auction too.

Picked up this Mickey Landis signed postcard. Has anybody ever heard of him?

Pretty obscure fighter. Looks like a Eastern Pennsylvania area clubfighter type.

Any idea where that vaudeville piece is from?
I already posted this in a different thread but WTF, I am so pleased to get it that I might as well do it here too! ![]() I have no idea what this is, other than it is old and came from a European seller:

I'm guessing the Gibbons piece is from his 1924 trip to England, to fight Jack Bloomfield.

It is from a stint at the Pantages Theater in Minneapolis. It opened in 1916 and is still in use today.
Gibbons was from St. Paul, so doing an event at a venue across the river wouldn't have been unusual. While he didn't make much from the 1923 title fight with Jack Dempsey, he did pretty well with the vaudeville shows.

I stand corrected then. The Pathe News reference on top of all the European sounding supporting acts led me to believe it was UK based. |

Here is a little more info on Gibbons' show at the Pantages:

I guess the poster isn't necessarily from the Minneapolis location. It looks like Pantages had a pretty big circuit around this time. This is the schedule for a 1921 Pantages tour
