Interesting strip cards from early 1900s...

Strip cards are tough to love. Poor images, typically poor condition and overall sort of ugly. But, is a great way to collect variety and HOFers affordably. I can see the fun in collecting those with back advertisements too.

The Wahoo is cool.

I forgot to put T206 in the title. This thread would have marathon legs if I did. The Wahoo seems a bit different than a regular wet sheet transfer as the ghost on the back is facing the wrong way?

True - the ghost is the wrong way for a WST. The color of Sam's skin also appears to be different on the front and the back. Are the colors layered in these cards like in lithographs?

Fred's answer that it might be the result of ink bleeding through the card has legs - perhaps the color change is due to a reaction with whatever the back of the card was against?

I don't have any wet sheet transfer cards but how is the ghost image facing the wrong way?

It wouldn't make any difference if it is a bleed through or wet sheet transfer the image on card back would be facing the same direction. I could be wrong and it wouldn't be the first time.

As I looked at it earlier I was thinking it was the wrong direction. Now, after a few more cups of coffee, not so sure. It is interesting nonetheless and that is why I got it. Here are some more strips too...a hodgepodge .

That's what I was thinking. Either way it came from an image that's facing the same way, so the direction of it shouldn't depend on whether it was transferred from the front or the back.

I can go dig it out Ed, but curious of your curiosity? And after checking my list of cards owned I might not own it anymore as it's not there. This scan was taken from my website and those scans are only 99% accurate. I could have been lazy and not updated the scan when I sold or traded it. I have to check another card too so I will see about it. If I have it, it's in one of many boxes and stacks.
