If the buyer really did not pay, feedback certainly should have been gone by now.

It sounds fishy to me. I agree with Leon for a 20k card you should be able to arrange a meeting in person. 20k + a plane ticket is still a steal for a PSA 5 52 Mantle. If he's not willing to do that you know something is wrong.
