When I get it in hand I think that is exactly what I will do! Cant wait. Thanks for all of the help, reinforcement and guidance. I will give it a good measure after I crack it for "officialness".

Take a loop to look at the 4 edges of the card, it will show that the new cut edges are clean and squared off. The old edges will be flattened, rolled and show then years of wear. It's good to learn what to look for by having cards in your hands, so this cards like yourself and so many others have said should be cracked out for comparing and learning.
