My recommendation was to take the photos out. And what u did there looks great. It brings everything much closer. As for a back ground a darker color be nice. The reason I say that is it will help draw your attention to the cards and not the background maybe a dark green,dark blue even black. Anyway you do it as long as ur happy that's all that matters. By the way great collection
