Two trades stick out in my mind. I was at a show in the late '80s and I had run out of cash, and I desperately needed ten top loaders (plastic). A dealer was willing to give me all ten for a 1970 Topps Tom Seaver card (EX). Seemed fair.
I also traded a sixth year card of an over-the-hill outfielder for a rookie card of the newest Reds' reliever in 1969. Wayne Granger was THE THING in my neighborhood, and who wouldn't trade a '68 Rose for his rookie card? |
