Years back I found a small stash of snapshots that featured some kids wearing exactly these same jerseys

The players pictured are from the 1928 Waynesboro (PA) Red Birds. They were in the Blue Ridge League. The league was classified as a "D" league. Only 3 of the players appeared in a major league game.
Rippy-Pitcher Ludke- Pitcher Larsh- Pitcher Miller- Manager Tieman-1B Elzer-Pitcher Connolly- SS Traynor-3B Burkie-C O'toole- OF Hollingsworth-Pitcher- played in MLB Hunter- Pitcher/OF- MLB (1) game Myers-OF- Played in MLB Gibson- Pitcher I'm still doing research on the jerseys themselves and the 2 different styles and also the reason why a minor league team would be wearing the Major League Cardinals " Worlds Champions" jerseys. Thanks for everyone's help so far!
