I've been moving my singles from top loaders to semi rigid. Huge space saver.

I applied both rubber bands and thumb tacks to 1986 Topps cards as a 9 year-old...

Sets in binders, good cards in top loaders in my "big display case"(holds 390 cards), and HOFer collection in screw downs then in custom display cases like the one pictured in my aviator.

i have my 1955 and 1956 sets in semi rigids then in 4 pocket pages within a binder. saves space, but also protects them. all cards 1957 and newer valued at $25 or higher are in screw downs.

With the exception of a few display pieces, I have everything in a top loader in a fire safe. For those that know where I live, I also have a doorman and a guard dog (she is 12 pounds and has a nice red sweater, but she will still lick you if you try to steal her cards or mine). I find that the toploaders offer the best balance of protection/space savings. The really high value cards are graded for an extra layer of protection and to assist my wife in liquidating my assets in the event it is ever needed.

I'm really old school. The '73 set I'm working on are in top loaders, and anything ungraded with value are in the 4 corner screw down holders. Any miscellaneous are in top loaders.
